As part of the preparations for refurbishments works at Ferryside station TPT facilitated a bat survey of the unit on behalf of Transport for Wales Rail. Being within a rural area this building was identified as a potential nesting site for bats, as such prior to any plans being approved Natural Resources Wales undertake a survey of the site for any potential points of ingress, or evidence of nesting.

After completion of the survey it appears that the building is sealed and has not been used by bats now or previously. We will await the official report but will be looking forward to proceeding with the planned refurbishment works at this site to give this lovely building a new lease of life!
