Following renovation by Hampshire Community Rail Partnership, customers using Romsey station now have the ability to purchase a range of hot and cold drinks and snacks. The station café, located on platform 2 was opened by the Community Rail Partnership in May 2023 and trades as Platform No 2  .

Romsey joins Shawford as stations that have high quality cafes which are run as Community Interest Companies with all proceeds from customer sales being reinvested to benefit the communities that the railway serves.

Mark Miller from Hampshire Community Rail Partnership said, “We are really pleased to be open and able to serve customers using Romsey station.  There has been fantastic feedback and positive compliments from customers that are delighted to have a café back open at the station.  Our customers are more thrilled to hear that it is a café that benefits the community.   We hope to be able to take forward more projects such as Woolston and Petersfield Signal Boxes, Romsey and Petersfield Station Masters Houses and Bentley community room with the income that is generated”.
