Oxenholme Station is the rail gateway to the southern Lake District. It is situated just over a mile from Kendal on the junction of the West Coast Main Line and the Kendal & Windermere branch line.
Avanti West Coast operate train services to London, Glasgow, Lancaster, Penrith & Carlisle with other operators serving local and regional destinations.
In 2022/23 the station had 481,628 passenger entries & exits and 353,601 interchanges (Source: ORR data).

Location

The site is at the entrance to southbound platform 1. It would suit a Piaggio or Tuk-Tuk style mobile catering vehicle.

The mobile catering vehicle will be subject to Licensor approval.
A site visit is strongly recommended before bidding to ensure that your mobile catering vehicle is suitable for the location with a rear servery.

A licence for a term of 3 years is being offered and will be subject to a mutual option to break on six months’ notice or 28 days in case of urgent station works. The licence will be excluded from the security of tenure provisions of the 1954 Landlord & Tenant Act.
Standard Railway Lease Terms will apply. The incoming licensee will be expected to pay approximately £1,000 plus VAT for the Licensor’s costs associated with the grant of this licence.

We are inviting offers of a Minimum Guaranteed Licence Fee plus an Additional Licence Fee based on a percentage of turnover (where this exceeds the Minimum Guaranteed Licence Fee).

Site for a high quality mobile catering vehicle for the sale of hot and cold food & drinks.

A power supply is available at the location and access to a water supply will be made available.
The Licensee will be responsible for the costs of all utilities consumed.

A service charge is not currently levied however the Licensor reserves the right to raise such a charge in future.

The Licensee will be responsible for payment of business rates (if levied).

The Licensee shall obtain a Street Traders Licence if required.

Phil has many years’ TOC experience with Eurostar, firstly in operational customer experience roles and later as Head of Property.  Responsible for the advertising and retail portfolios, he oversaw several high profile developments such as the sponsorship of the ‘Premium First’ lounges by Orange and the retail offer in the departures lounge at St Pancras International.  Phil also had responsibility for Eurostar’s operational premises in the UK, France and Belgium and the mothballing of Waterloo International Terminal.  After leaving Eurostar Phil was particularly proud to work as a consultant to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Phil brings a wealth of operational and retail property experience to the team, and at Amey TPT works on the Transport for Wales and Avanti West Coast accounts and consulting projects.
