Named after comedian Bob Mortimer’s ‘Train Guy’ character’s favourite catchphrase, South Western Railway customers can now order their own refreshments from CampaChooChoo.   No need to be called Collin or Jeff, everyone is welcome.  

The new retail unit opened at the start of October 2021 and is operated by Anthony, the well known and much loved retailer who has been serving customers using the station since 2008.   

Previously trading from a Piaggio mobile coffee vehicle, plans have been underway for many years for a larger retail unit that now enables customers to be served a wider variety of products.   The introduction of the gateline in 2018 meant plans for a kiosk installation had to be changed.   Having obtained consents, South Western Railway undertook works to provide a retail unit trading into a redecorated waiting room on platform 1.   A new side elevation will enable service of CampaChooChoo products to customers who are not travelling.   

Anthony said, ‘after all of the work with South Western Railway and AmeyTPT on the creation of a new retail unit, I am really pleased to be opening to serve loyal and new customers.   Bob Mortimer’s team have wished me success in this project and I hope Bob may pop should he visit Petersfield so he can sample my wide variety of hot and cold drinks, my CampaChooChoo Cappuccino’s as well as my new range of hot baps which customers can enjoy during their travels.’
