SSP, the largest retailer on UK rail has opened their first Café Local at Fratton station.  Café Local has been chosen by SSP as the brand that shall replace the Pumpkin café with new Café Local stores set to open throughout the UK.   

The new Café stocks a range of hot and cold drinks including alcohol for consumption off the premises and an assortment of confectionery, news and snacks.  To reduce carbon, the café utilises new energy efficient refrigeration and LED lighting.  

Later this year SSP will be opening a second Café Local on the South Western Railway estate at Salisbury in advance of converting all remaining Pumpkin’s on the South Western Railway estate by December 2024.
