Caffè Nero Opens at Wimbledon Station

South Western Railway and Amey PCI are pleased to welcome Caffè Nero to Wimbledon Station, with the new café now open on the forecourt just outside the main station entrance.

The unit has been created through the successful reconfiguration of two former retail premises, previously occupied by WHSmith and Mamma Mia, to form a single, prominent and highly visible location. This transformation has delivered a modern and high-quality retail space that significantly enhances the customer offer at one of South West London’s busiest stations.

Caffè Nero has delivered an impressive shopfit, overcoming a number of practical challenges associated with combining the two units. Notably, the presence of a structural steel beam between the former premises has been carefully integrated into the design, with internal stairs providing a seamless link between the two areas and creating a well-connected and functional layout.
The new café opens at an ideal time, ahead of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, when the station and surrounding area experience a significant increase in footfall from tennis fans, visitors and seasonal workers. Its prominent position on the forecourt ensures it will serve both rail customers and the wider local community.

The addition of a national, high-quality operator such as Caffè Nero strengthens the retail mix at Wimbledon and contributes to the continued improvement of the station environment, supporting its role as a key regional transport hub.
Amey PCI and South Western Railway hope that passengers, visitors and local residents enjoy the new café and the enhanced facilities it brings to Wimbledon Station.
