AmeyTPT volunteers grafted at Magdalen Farm in Dorset on a recent summer Community Day.

Magdalen Environmental Trust (registered charity no.1002373) run a 132-acre organic care farm/education centre on the Somerset/ Dorset border, encouraging community engagement with nature, a better understanding of the environment and developing steps towards sustainable living.

AmeyTPT volunteers built a new pig arc, weeded raised beds within a polytunnel in the vegetable garden and fed the free range chickens with windfall apples they collected.  The hard working team members were rewarded with a delicious organic lunch made entirely from produce grown on the farm.

AmeyTPT volunteers are looking forward to heading back to Magdalen Farm for a winter Community Day and will be tasked with planting trees. David Corp from AmeyTPT commented “We hope Magdalen Farm’s pigs enjoy the comfort of their new home.  AmeyTPT look forward to returning to Magdalen Farm’s beautiful setting later in the year”
