Case Study Background
As part of the build up to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar wherein Wales qualified for the first time in 60 years the Football Association of Wales approached Transport for Wales (TfW) requesting permission to install an art mural on the Cardiff Queen Street Bridge on Newport Road. This is a very central location and considered a ‘gateway’ into the city centre.
The art was commissioned by a local street artist group, Unify, who has completed a number of high-profile pieces across Cardiff and South Wales.

- TPT advised on the licensing arrangement required to approve the installation and ensure continued maintenance
- TPT coordinated communications between TfW, AIW, Unify and the FAW in order to ensure the license was completed in time for the target installation date
Deliverables
There was a very short timescale associated with this project in order to ensure it was completed ahead of the first match, TPT were able to deliver a completed license in one month.
