After their very successful introduction of the Centenary Lounge brand to Taunton station at the end of 2024, they have now arrived on Stroud station. Undertaking a full refurbishment of the café on platform 1, they have delivered a fantastic fitout in their trademark distinctive heritage style, well befitting the listed nature of the station building.

GWR, The Railway Heritage Trust and Amey all worked closely with the team at Centenary Lounge and the detail that has gone into the café restoration is clear to see.

Customers can now enjoy a wide selection of hot and cold drinks, wines and beers, as well an Express Menu available throughout the day, offering soup of the day, sandwiches, toasties, paninis, pastries and cakes.

Aasia Baig, Founder of Centenary Lounge, said:

“When I was first contacted by GWR asking if I would be interested in the café at Stroud Station, I didn’t have to think twice. We already have very successful cafés at Moor Street Station, Leamington Station and Taunton Station, and with my love of railway history and art deco-style buildings I wasn’t about to refuse an opportunity to run another GWR venue. With the restoration now complete, passengers can once again enjoy a wide range of food and drink refreshments.”

David Murray, Amey Senior Portfolio Manager, said:

“After the transformation that Aasia and her team brought to a rundown unit on Taunton station, which has proven a great success, it is great to see her expand her presence on the GWR network with this welcome addition on Stroud station. Aasia and her team have delivered a stunning result which brings a great new facility to the station for the benefit of passengers, staff and the wider Stroud community. We wish her and her team all success with this latest venture.”
