Food and beverage travel experts SSP continued their program of conversions from Pumpkin to Café Local with the opening of Havant platform 2 on Wednesday 19^th June.  The new store has had an internal fit out and now serves the full range of hot and cold drinks, pastries, sandwiches, alcoholic beverages, travel accessories and a range of West Cornwall Pasties.   The fit out included new doors and windows. 

The platform 2 conversion followed the renovation of the unit on platform 1 that re-opened to customers in May 2024. 

Account Manager, Ian Chalmers said, “it was really pleasing to see the enormous improvement to the two retail units which should improve the customer experience at the station.  Speaking to store management the customers appear to be enthusiastic to the new retail units with sales increased on platform 1 immediately following opening.   The Amey TPT team look forward to working with SSP on the next conversion for South Western Railway customers which will be at Woking.”
