Penrith Station is located on the edge of the town centre. With bus and taxi connections it is the gateway to the northern part of the Lake District National Park and the nearby Center Parcs.
Train services are provided by Virgin Trains & Transpennine Express to London, Glasgow, Manchester Airport, and Carlisle.
The latest figures available from the Office of Rail & Road (2016/17) estimate 547,208 annual passenger entries and exits.


The Station House is a Listed Building with parts dating back to 1846. It is separate to the operational parts of the station buildings.
The exterior has recently been renovated by Network Rail but the interior is in need of modernisation.
It is arranged over three floors and fronts on to the station forecourt. The ground floor comprises two large rooms and a WC and is linked to the upper floors by a central staircase. The first floor comprises two large rooms with the second floor providing two further rooms, WC and bathroom.


An internal repairing lease of six or nine years is offered subject to the usual railway determination provisions.
The lease will be contracted out of the security of tenure provisions of the Landlord & Tenant Act.
Rent to be agreed depending on use.
Upward only Rent Review on the third and sixth anniversaries.
A reasonable rent free period will be allowed.
The Tenant will be responsible for Business Rates and all utilities consumed on the premises.


Office use is permitted although other uses will be considered subject to planning and Superior Landlord consent being obtained.


Penrith Station is a Listed Building so the Tenant's fit out will be subject to Listed Building Consent as well as the usual Network Rail Building Consent.


An EPC is not required as Penrith Station is a Listed Building


The Tenant will be responsible for the Landlord's and Superior Landlord's legal fees estimated at £1,500 plus VAT and £1,000 plus VAT respectively.
Additionally the Tenant will meet the costs of a credit reference check (£75 plus VAT) and the production of a Land Registry compliant lease plan (£120 plus VAT).
